Enugu killer-cop faces orderly room trial over musician’s killing
According to the statement, the CP has ordered the immediate redeployment of the Commander of the Anti-Cult Tactical Squad unit, SP Ekeleme Chidobe, to allow a thorough review of the operations of the unit following reports of its illegal activities. It added, “The Commissioner of Police, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, has ordered the immediate redeployment of the Officer in Charge of the Tactical Squad, SP Ekeleme Chidobe, to allow for a comprehensive review of the squad’s operations. The statement partly read: “Following the tragic and unwarranted shooting and killing of Enugu-based Ogene musician, Chikezie Okezie Nwamba “m” (a.k.a. Igbo-Jah), the Enugu State Command’s Criminal Investigation Department has concluded its investigation into the incident. The Enugu State Police Command on Sunday said an investigation into the fatal shooting of renowned Ogene musician, Chikezie Okezie Nwamba, aka Igbo-Jah, has been concluded and an orderly room trial of the killer-cop has begun. The command had on Saturday evening named the killer-cop as Inspector Joseph Ozonwanji attached to the Anti-Cult Tactical Squad unit of the command.
